- Use vehicles to acquire data in both onshore and offshore.
- Produce reports (DPR, HSE report, mob/demob report and operation report).
- Work in a variety of different situations, applications and provide accurate and reliable information.
- Acquire assigned information on site.
- Respond to technical queries from onshore engineering teams and problem-solve for colleagues working
offshore - if working onshore.
- Review company procedures and software projects and provide feedback on courses and in-house training.
- Work as part of a team of technical specialists.
- Adjustments in job duties will be made according to the requirements of the project, for example: surveyors, captains, etc.

Jan De Nul Group has been focusing on specific offshore services for the oil, gas and renewable energy market for many years. These services can be divided as following: intervention works at the sea bottom, rock installation and ballasting, installation of offshore wind farms, subsea cables and umbilical's. For our sites in Taiwan (mainly Taichung), we are looking for a candidate whom will be entering our survey department servicing all different ongoing projects.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
In collaboration with the survey manager:
o Equipment & material sourcing
o Local repairs / service companies, joining meetings
o Data retrieval from government agencies
o Assisting with data processing / charting / administration
o Joining client survey meetings
When site work is required:
o General survey works
o (Joining) site visits & witnessing survey works conducted by subcontractors (land & marine)
o Executing and/or witnessing basic hydrographic and/or topographic surveys using single beam
o Multibeam echo sounders, total station, RTK rover, automatic level instrument (on the job training will be provided)
o If interested / skilled, performing & processing drone surveys (external and internal training will be provided)
Administration:
o Communication with local companies and clients
o Preparing survey procedures and processing comments from clients
o Obtaining approvals / licenses (transmission frequencies, installations, etc.)
o Verification and quality analysis of topographic & hydrographic survey data of subcontractors
Profile
You are a Civil, Science (Geomatics/Geography/Geology/Electrical/Mechanical) Engineer, Construction or Marine Ocean Science Engineer in Taiwan with interest in the field.
You have the ability to learn new software (proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel) and work with a hands-on approach.
You must possess the skills to work effectively and efficiently within a team and coordinate the work activities of a field crew.
You are a flexible and active person, eager to learn new skills and ready to take on new challenges. Interested to work and be part of a team of multi-national engineers & surveyors.

Job description:
Prepare, gather and process survey information and ensure reporting of data and possible deviations to Project Management and client’s representatives, in line with contractual agreements, thereby contributing to safe and (cost-) efficient project execution.
-Preparations: Determine and install necessary measurement equipment;
-Measurement: Measure and process data before, during and after project execution and carry out field checks, according to contractual agreements and specifications;
-Data Processing: Verify the accuracy of the data and analyze and interpret the data, process the data into a report for presenting and explaining results to Project Management and/or client and start and maintain a database;
-Equipment Maintenance: Analyze functioning of measuring equipment and ensure maintenance, in accordance with the maintenance instructions;
