The World Vegetable Center (WorldVeg) is a non-profit, autonomous international agricultural research center with headquarters in Taiwan and five regional offices around the globe. WorldVeg conducts research and development programs that contribute to realizing the potential of vegetables for healthier lives and more resilient livelihoods. The Center has vegetable breeding programs in Asia and Africa, has strong connections to the seed sector, and is well-placed to develop improved cultivars with traits for tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses, enhanced shelf life, improved nutrient content and quality. The Center is strengthening its collaborations with advanced research institutions and universities and is currently modernizing its research infrastructure, including its chemical analytics laboratory. WorldVeg seeks to employ an Associate Scientist - Food Chemistry, to strengthen the research capacity of the Center's chemical analysis laboratory. The incumbent will be based at Center’s headquarters in Shanhua, Tainan, Taiwan and will contribute to the Flagship Program – Healthy Diets. This position is open for Taiwanese nationals only. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate and facilitate chemical analyses in the Center's facilities as well as in laboratories of research partners or service providers. - Develop and optimize methods for the extraction, identification, and quantification of chemical constituents associated with the nutritional value, quality and safety of vegetables and vegetable-based dishes and products. - Collect, compile, analyze and archive data and prepare internal and official reports, including writing reports, attending review meetings. - Contribute to the writing of publications, presentations, project reports and contribute to grant proposals for projects involving chemical analysis. - Remain updated on the literature and new technologies for chemical analytics of food and vegetables. - Train staff, students, partners and visiting scientists in chemical analysis methods, laboratory safety and good laboratory practice. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Required Qualifications: - A recent PhD degree in Food Chemistry, Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline, with a demonstrated specialization in the chemical analysis of crops, food, soil, and farm inputs. - Possess robust technical and problem-solving skills, a willingness to adapt to new methodologies, and a commitment to providing support across the Center's various research areas. - Proficiency in High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and experience in analyzing mass spectroscopy data are indispensable. - Additional valuable qualifications include demonstrated expertise in analyzing indigenous crops, along with a comprehensive understanding of their nutritional and chemical attributes. - Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English are essential. - Able to thrive in a collaborative, multicultural, and multinational environment, working effectively as part of multidisciplinary teams. It comprises 26 independent national/regional Greenpeace organisations with presence in over 55 countries across Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Asia. PURPOSE and SCOPE OF THE JOB     The Campaigner is responsible for the development and implementation of effective and integrated campaign work to achieve Greenpeace's mission. The post holder will work in a team composed of campaign, communications & multimedia, action, research, analytics, and fundraising and engagement staff. An effective decision requires an integrated approach and knowledge. The post holder may be assigned to work on projects which involve other Greenpeace offices. The post holder is managed by the Program Manager or Project Manager. Judgment is exercised in leading and managing a project or an area of a project. Decisions made by the post holder significantly impact the success of the project. Discretion is exercised in handling confidential and sensitive information. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ■ Organize the campaign team, host regular team meetings, and manage budget and campaign administration work. ■ Monitor Taiwan's political, economic, social, and cultural status quo and trends, and communicate with local or international organizations and government departments for different environmental protection projects. ■ Monitor public opinion and media to raise public awareness, and get more public support for Greenpeace's campaign demands. ■ Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for the flawless execution of projects. ■ Develop and implement effective and integrated campaign plans, strategies, and tactics related to the overall vision, goals, and objectives of the organization. ■ Organize offline/online activities and conduct research and investigation in relation to the objectives and plans of campaign projects ■ Actively represent Greenpeace in front of the business, scientific, and government sectors, the environmental community at large, and the media (traditional and new), to achieve campaign objectives and strengthen the profile and credibility of Greenpeace. 工作內容: ■ 組織團隊、主持會議、行政及預算管理。 ■ 監測台灣政治、經濟、社會及文化現狀及趨勢,並針對不同環保專案議題,與本地或國際性的組織及政府部門溝通互動。 ■ 關注媒體、提升公眾意識,讓綠色和平的訴求得到更多公眾支持。 ■ 負責內外部協調溝通,確保專案執行順暢。 ■ 制訂和實施有效的專案策略,策略規劃需符合專案整體目標。 ■ 組織策畫線下/網路活動,就專案目標進行實地考察和調查研究。 ■ 在企業/政府部門/環境團體/媒體面前代表綠色和平組織,就目標對象提出策略性訴求、遊說,以實現專案目標並增強綠色和平組織的形象和公信力。 REQUIREMENTS ■ Strong interpersonal/ teamwork skills ■ Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. This dual-role position plays a critical role in driving talent acquisition efforts while supporting key HR administrative functions to ensure a positive and seamless employee experience. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment (Primary Focus) • Partner with the People & Culture Lead in Taiwan to ensure timely, respectful, and professional communication with all candidates throughout the recruitment process. • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for positions across Taipei, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong and Beijing. • Utilize a variety of sourcing strategies and platforms to identify, attract, and engage top talent, maintaining a strong and diverse candidate pipeline. • Review resumes, conduct phone screenings, and assess candidate qualifications in alignment with role requirements and organizational values. • Draft and publish internal/external job postings, develop position descriptions, and manage applicant tracking. • Oversee and coordinate onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition for new hires. • Stay up to date on recruitment trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve hiring processes.
