This role will serve as the first in-house legal function at SUSS MicroTec Taiwan, with the following responsibilities:
1. Collect and centralize legal documents
2. Conduct on-site legal and compliance training.
3. Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external legal counsel.
4. Manage Board Meetings and provide corporate governance support, including drafting Board resolutions.
5. Establish and develop the legal function in the Taiwan office.
6. Act as the main point of contact for legal matters across Asia.
7. Support the General Manager with day-to-day tasks and provide legal assistance to various departments as needed.
Task:
- Communicate with headquarters and assist in drafting, revising, and reviewing various contracts and legal documents (in both Chinese and English).
- Draft, review, and revise company standard contracts.
- Develop and optimize internal legal policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide legal advice on operational risks and contract arrangements.
- Manage internal and external legal cases, including claims, disputes, mediations, and litigation.
- Collaborate with external lawyers and legal consultants to formulate response strategies.
- Handle labor disputes, workplace bullying, sexual harassment, or other labor-related cases.
- Provide comprehensive internal legal support for the company and its subsidiaries.
- Assist in promoting legal awareness relevant to the organization.
- Plan, organize, coordinate, supervise, and control internal intellectual property management operations.
- Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in law.
- LLM or overseas law degree is a plus.
- 5+ year of legal experience in the high-tech industry or with a top-tier national or international law firm is preferred.
- Proficiency in English at a working level or above.
