1. A working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD drafting. Proficiency with NX and a working knowledge of Solidworks, ASME Y14.X drafting standards, +/- Dimensioning, and Geometric Dimensioning at Tolerancing (GD&T).
2. Work closely with the design and development team to assist in the creation of drawings, editing of drawings, tech packs, and Adobe Illustrator files. You will work closely with internal document control to manage and drive the accuracy of marketing material, instructions, and timely completion of all product specifications. You will also work closely with the Compliance team to help with data collection and management needs.
3. Authorized and responsible for performing all duties by BDEL Quality, Safety, and Employee Policies and procedures:
• Responsible for creating electronic geometry drawings of product components and assemblies using NX according to the requirements of the person(s) requesting the geometry or drawing.
• Responsible for updating and creating all Black Diamond drawings and working closely with the Document Control Department to get drawing files in the appropriate format for upload to Black Diamonds Document Control System.
• Responsible for managing and administering Black Diamond's CAD drawing library. Ability to manage PDM Work and Black Diamond’s PLM system (NX) as appropriate.
• Responsible for promptly updating and revising all drawings according to the DCO process.
• Responsible for ensuring that all drawings adhere to Black Diamond’s drafting standards.
• Responsible for understanding the ASME Y 14.x and GD&T drafting standards, for ensuring that new drawings conform to their specifications, and for bringing existing drawings into conformance as DCOs require that they be updated.
• Responsible for making 3D modeling changes as requested by designers and engineers.
• Responsible for creating CAD assemblies and exploded view configurations to show internal component interaction.
• Responsible for creating Parasolid files for sourcing engineers to communicate with vendors.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining Black Diamond’s drafting templates and implementing, updating, and managing program updates to ensure drafting standards.
