The position is accountable for management of the supply base within the complete Asia supply chain landscape. This would include activities which support the execution of sourcing projects and tactical procurement opportunities to help ensure the realization of cost savings objectives, covering both Taiwan operation, as well as global operation locations of Suss. You will be the key interface with suppliers to develop most competitive to manufacture components and finished goods with the highest quality and cost-effective manufacturing processes. Primary tasks of this position is to provide leadership in ensuring all approved products are purchased under cost effective contracts. Identifies and coordinates all opportunities for contracting of new and existing equipment, supplies and services. You will work closely with supply quality engineer to drive supplier development and steer the supply base to serve necessary deliveries, for example frame contact, supplier safety stock, Kanban, etc. This position reports to the Procurement head Asia in Taiwan. Frequent travel to supplier is expected. Good communication with corresponding SUSS stakeholders and suppliers are essential for reaching the objectives of this job successfully. Responsibilities: Define, develop, negotiate and contract strategic sourcing solutions that meet businesses’ requirements and enhance profitability by controlling or reducing costs, improving payment terms, reducing inventory and optimizing supply chain efficiencies. Develop a sourcing plan for both for local and international sources, so that fast and effectively sourcing operations are possible. Responsible to manage existing contracts and supplier relations for complex areas and products, with assurance of continuous parts supply in defined quality and volume for worldwide Suss production needs. Tasks: - Drive strategic procurement o Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships o Co-develop vision and targets of supplier landscape by pursuing technology requirements and product roadmap in collaboration with category lead buyers o Provide clear communications to operational buyers on aligned WW purchasing strategies - Develop supply base to meet the desired value adding position o Develop and administer an efficient global supply chain and monitor inventory for all global products which assist to increase growth. o Challenge suppliers and internal customers to identify and imple-ment innovative designs, value-add specification changes, concepts, and materials. o Identify improvement areas and align with supplier on gap closure actions. Follow up during periodical operational review. o Leverage suppliers internal or sub-tier resources to deliver higher value propositions - Perform supplier audits o Join team on supplier on-site assessments to improve supplier structural and long term performance enhancement, and achieve improvement objectives based on balanced priorities o Determine and apply criteria for the evaluation, selection, monitoring of performance, and re-evaluation of suppliers, based on their ability to provide products and services - Function as a linking pin between suppliers and Suss o Collaborate with engineering, supply chain engineer, business group, and manufacturing sites, to resolve supplier related issues.
