Description of position: Coordinates department projects and compiles and communicates information for General Merchandise Manager (GMM) and buying group for nationwide retail club warehouses. Keys data for reports and builds computerized presentations. Maintains department calendar for location openings, travel, and time off. Sets up meetings, processes expense reports. Daily tasks and responsibilities: •Coordinates department projects. Sets up meetings and vendor appointments, books trade show reservations and coordinates travel arrangements. •Compiles and communicates information for a general merchandise-buying group. Relay info from GMM to staff. Collects repots and information from staff to combine for GMM. •Collects and keys data for reports such as Daily Sales, Monday Dept Report, Weekly and Period-End Budget & Summary, inventory, overhead, supply issues, and updated department lists. Consolidates End of Season buyer reports. •Maintains department calendar for location openings, travel, and time off. Updates department phone lists, and warehouse lists. •Processes expense reports. Contacts Human Resources, Payroll, Expense Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Information Systems for any buying area issues. •Builds computerized slide shows for GMM meeting presentations. •Arranges acquisition, repair, and maintenance of office equipment. Orders office supplies for buying group. •Recruits for department positions, posts open positions, screens applications, schedules interviews, notifies applicants of results. Types and files confidential employee data, such as performance reviews, salary changes, and disciplinary action. Non-Essential Functions and Tasks: •Assists in other areas of the department as necessary. •Assists in other departments of the company as necessary.

Qualifications: Education/Training: Bachelor degree preferred. Licenses/Certifications: None. Experience: One year Costco experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills: Computer skills required; Word, Excel, and Power Point skills. Organizational skills required. Good written and verbal communication skills required (both English & Chinese).
