ABOUT US 2008年7月26日, 『GALERIE Bistro』在南京西路內悄悄的成立了,我們是一家重視傳統原味與道地作法的歐式料理餐廳,最大的訴求是提供客人原味、健康、零負擔的料理態度。 在這裡所有的食材皆是原產地進口的物料,小至巧克力、馬鈴薯,大至義大利水牛馬札瑞拉起司、牛肉,按照傳統道地繁瑣的處理再佐以昂貴的橄欖油、天然海鹽調味,加以簡單的烹煮,進而保留食材的原味,我們讓客人吃到的是最新鮮、道地的美食,卻不造成身體的負擔。這裡提供的單點有六十多道,以義大利、法國和美式料理為主,您可以依照自己的喜好、心情挑選我們每一道精緻的手工菜。我們首推的是crêpe-法式軟薄餅,有多種鹹味、甜味,皆以傳統配方製作,有別一般台灣時下的薄餅,提拉米蘇及各式甜點更是按照義大利、法國最道地的”祖母的食譜”做成,很多歸國或是國外來的客人給我們的評價是就像在國外家鄉吃到的一樣。 成立之初至今常有人好奇問到這一大棟白色花園洋房的由來,GALERIE的主人翁Ely小時候在這六十年前由曾祖父購入的昭和六年起建的洋房裡長大,從小就對美食有熱烈興趣的她也赴瑞士攻讀飯店管理;直至前些年,在這個房子空置了20年之後,她決定在這個小時候曾冠蓋雲集的白屋子裡成立餐廳;這棟充滿後殖民時代風格的洋房,在經過內部的大幅整修,並保留了80年來的原始樣貌之後,正式開張營業。為了打造心目中最完美的餐廳,在籌備之初她特別飛到英國、巴黎,實地走一趟歷史悠久的餐廳,規劃出餐廳的設計元素,因為她期待多年之後,GALERIE Bistro也會成為歐洲有的百年老店一樣。她讓丈夫Martin負責了改建、設計及裝修的工程,室、內外皆以白色系為主,連菜單、化妝室都是,希望給客人乾淨、明亮的感覺;她並找了及相識十多年的好友Teri,一起籌設了餐廳的成立。兩個女人的個性、專長剛好互補,Ely學的是飯店管理,Teri擁有設計與財務經驗,兩人一起經營餐廳再適合不過了。她們知道這棟花園洋房的先天的條件,不論是在國內、外,都鮮少有屋子可以媲美這一棟建築物的典雅。Ely的家族也大方的公開這個地方,讓大家有機會可以一起享受這獨特白色洋房寬大的典雅氛圍。 我們共同希望是能實實在在、用心的經營這裡,在台灣提供一個舒服、寬敞、不壓迫、優雅的用餐空間,以一般餐廳的價格,提供高級的服務,從直挺、淨白的桌布、個人餐巾、進口的餐具,到服務生的服務態度、上菜、開酒、斟酒的各式基本動作流程,都經過歐式的嚴格訓練及要求;除此,桌、椅也都是Ely親自設計,再請專人打造,使用的餐具皆為五星級飯店指定的義大利、德國品牌,瓷器餐盤也是從日本訂製來的Bone China質地。我們誠摯的希望客人能真切的與我們一起感受。 在GALERIE的戶外用餐,白天和夜晚的氣氛大不相同,各有風味,當天氣太熱時,我們會貼心的遞上扇子,讓您覺得自己好似歐洲貴族般;當冷風來襲,也準備了毛毯、點上暖爐,體貼的讓您保持溫暖。圍牆邊種的是整排的桂花樹;希望下次您經過時剛好一陣微風吹來,陣陣的桂花香,將為您開啟美好、悠閒的用餐氣氛。
We are a European cuisine restaurant that follows traditional recipes and presents food by its natural flavor. Our biggest emphasis is our attitude toward gourmet - offering natural healthy cuisine without burdens on your overall health.Ingredients are imported, ranging from something as small as chocolate and potatoes to larger items such as Mozzarella cheese and beef. Following traditional methods everything is cooked with precious olive oil and seasoned with sea salt. You’ll enjoy authentic European cuisine that is fresh, delicious and light and skip through calorie counting while you’re at it. There are more than sixty western dishes available on the menu with main focuses on Italian, French and American cuisines. You can choose among variety of handmade dishes according to your favorites and wishes. Our first recommendation is our crêpe in several savory choices which is different than what’s already available in the Taiwan market. Our crêpe is made with traditional recipe as well as our tiramisu and other desserts – we follow the traditional granny’s recipe from France and Italy. Many foreign guests and overseas returnees have complimented, “Just like what we get at home!” Often people wonder about the history of this all-white three-story European-style house. The owner of GALERIE Bistro, Ely grew up here since she was little. Sixty years ago her great-grandfather purchased this western-style house that was built in 1931 during Japanese Occupation Period. With a strong interest in food & beverage industry, she went to study Hotel Resort management in Switzerland. After this house had been vacant over 20 years, she decided to open a restaurant here that once was a gathering spot for all the celebrities in the good old days. A major renovation took place on the inside of this post-colonial western-style structure and the original framework, 80 years old, was kept as the way it’s always been. Soon it was open for business. In order to build the most perfect restaurant of her dream, Ely took special trips to England and Paris during preparation of GALERIE Bistro’s launch. She visited long running restaurants for field research and developed the design elements of the restaurant. She hopes that years from now GALERIE Bistro will also become a well-known establishment with long history. Her husband﹙Martin﹚was in charge of renovation, design and repairs. The decor is all-white inside and out, including menu and washroom areas for the color white makes it a clean well-lighted place. Also Ely recruited her longtime close friend Teri to plan for the making of GALERIE Bistro. They complement each other in terms of personalities and specialized professional skills, Ely has the degree in Hotel Resort management and Teri is well-experienced in design and finance. Running a restaurant business together is ideal for the duo. They understand the natural born rare quality about this patio house. A house as elegant as this one is few and far between even if you travel around the world to look for it. Ely’s Family is very generous to make this place public so that everyone has a chance to enjoy the beauty, space and ambience of this unique western-style house. We hope to provide consumers in Taiwan a comfortable, spacious and relaxing dining area, offering a fine dining experience with quality service at a bistro price. From fine table linens and individual napkins to the attitude of service staff, from proper ways to open wine bottles and to serving, we follow a set of strict European standard and guidelines. All the tables and chairs are originated from Ely’s creative ideas and the factory built them based on her design sketch. Imported flatware from Italy and Germany is designated for five star hotels. Tableware used in GALERIE Bistro is Bone China from Japan. We sincerely hope that you can come experience these finer things in life personally.
