The Manager, Human Resources for Taiwan and Hong Kong, will act as a strategic HR Business Partner (HRBP), playing a crucial role in aligning HR strategies with business objectives to drive organizational success. This role requires a seasoned HR professional with extensive experience in multinational environments, capable of partnering with leaders to influence and guide them in the successful delivery of core HR offerings. The HRBP will address local organizational challenges through people-related solutions that support Alcon’s mission: “to help people see brilliantly.” Based in Taipei, this position reports to the Head of HR, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
-Partner with the Taiwan and Hong Kong business and function teams to drive people and culture priorities.
-Deliver Alcon’s core HR services and people processes (e.g., Talent Review, Performance Management) to ensure an optimal associate experience.
-Coach leaders on HR-related topics, including organization design, team effectiveness, talent management, employee relations, and career development.
-Plan and execute interventions with leaders and associates to enhance associate experience, engagement, and retention.
-Act as a business consultant, using diagnostic interventions and proactively offering talent insights to drive a high-performance culture.
-Align and implement enterprise-level talent and culture initiatives, and participate in regional projects to enhance learning and visibility.
-Engage with HR Centers of Excellence (CoE) partners (Total Rewards, HR Operations, -Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, TMOD) to develop strategic solutions that align with local talent strategies.
-Guide the talent acquisition team on hiring matters, including managing leader expectations, workforce planning, and reviewing offers/compensation.
-Design and implement HR policies and practices that align with business objectives and comply with relevant laws.
-Review and investigate performance, misconduct, and other employee relations issues using a systematic approach, sound judgment, and legal advice. Participate in legal mediations and settlement discussions as needed.
-Identify areas for continuous improvement across talent processes.
-Independently manage administrative tasks associated with the role.
