The Lead RF Engineer will be on the front lines of the conception, design, development, and release of Samtec’s RF Interconnect Products. The Lead RF Engineer will need to be comfortable in design development, sustaining product design, and cradle to grave lifecycle ownership.

Summary: Responsible for project management during the implementation phase of new products under the direction of the engineering manager.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for all aspects of project management on assigned new products from the design phase until release for sale.
2. Understand the scope of the project from product marketing and engineering management to identify the critical elements of a successful project launch & completion.
3. Use project management software tools to set up the project and modifications to the template to accurately describe each particular project including tasks, team, and timing.
4. Work with the design engineer on design progress making sure input from Signal Integrity, EMI, thermal, and manufacturing engineers is received before releasing the design.
5. Oversee the product development phase by understanding the component bill of material, manufacturing process, and product qualification assembly requirements. Manage the critical path to production of qualification requirements.
6. Oversee first article inspections for components and assemblies.
7. Oversee design verification and full qualification testing for new products. Gather appropriate resources to address any test failures or needed troubleshooting in the qualification process.
8. Work with manufacturing engineers to debug tooling, address problems, and complete pre-production runs.
9. Ensure timely completion of the appropriate release documentation for each project and route for approval. Also, conduct a release meeting with engineering, sales, marketing, pricing, and purchasing to smooth the transition from non-released to released product. Track time to market on individual projects and look for opportunities to both reduce implementation time and improve quality.

Summary/Objective:
The Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for improving the engineering, manufacturing, and quality of product in Samtec's Connector Manufacturing area. The primary focus is to address complex issues that affect product quality and/or customer satisfaction by developing and implementing systems and process changes required for improving overall quality performance and sustainable results.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities.
1. Initiate projects related to product, process, quality systems, or yield improvement based on internal and external quality indicators.
2. Drive Best Manufacturing Practices documents, reviewing and approving them for submittal and control through training and development.
3. Develop and implement systems that improve quality and ensure sustainable results, therefore driving continuous improvement.
4. Use advanced measurement tools, techniques, and test equipment and be able to understand and analyze results.
5. Serve as a training resource for above mentioned measurement and test equipment, ensuring respective personnel understand their operation.
6. Provide guidance and training to Manufacturing Quality Support personnel in the respective area.
7. Monitor and report daily/weekly/monthly KPI’s via meetings, email, and End of Month reports.
8. Analyze data required to understand a problem and develop solutions. This includes, but is not limited to: quality data, manufacturing process data, dimensional data, engineering data, training records, audit results, etc.
9. Investigate and appropriately document quality problems using root cause analysis methods and identify robust corrective actions.
10. Create and maintain all relevant Work Instructions, SOP’s, Training Documents, and Workmanship Standards
11. Use quality tools such as failure analysis, root cause analysis, DOE, PFMEA, SPC, and others, to identify the source of a problem, correct the problem, and prevent future occurrences on same or similar products.
12. Identify and coordinate containment of any nonconforming materials
13. Audit manufacturing processes for compliance to quality, manufacturing, and engineering standards. Work with the relevant parties to develop plans to address non-conforming audit results.

Required Experience
1. 5+ Years’ experience in Process Engineering, Quality Assurance Engineer, or Operations Management is required.
2. Experience with ISO or Automotive Quality Management systems is ideal.
3. Must be familiar with Manufacturing techniques such as LEAN & 5S
4. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
5. Connector experience is desired but not required.
6. Lifting Requirements: Medium Work – Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.

Summary/Objective
The candidate will be part of a dynamic design team that is responsible for signal integration, verification and characterization in connector design. To utilize techniques in EM (Electromagnetic) and Circuit model generation, simulation, and validation for correlating connector measurements versus 3D full-wave simulation, affecting a signal integrity driven design for product development. While working as a member of a cross functional team, the candidate must optimize system level performance in areas of High-speed channel. This person will work collaboratively with measurement, layout, and mechanical teams to ensure new design rules, manufacturing processes and material has no impact to yields.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities.
1. The SI Engineer simulates & optimizes electrical models of connectors & cable assemblies working with mechanical design team, layout team and RF team to understand constraints from mechanical/material point of view and sort out the design to meet specifications.
2. Documentations, reports, verbal, and written communications in English with internal/external customer.
3. Self-manage projects with keeping track of multiple projects at a time and logging corresponding progress and findings.
4. Defining and solving problems with systematic approach.
5. The SI engineer will be expected to utilize many different technologies used at Samtec. These may include but are not limited to the following:
• Signal Integrity Fundamentals, (Deep learning wide range of topics)
• Frequency and Time domain testing

Required Experience
Qualified candidate must have 3 years or above of recent Signal Integrity experience with the following is preferred:
1. Must be able to operate CST/ HFSS/ ADS with proper understand limitations of these software.
2. Must have knowledge of EM/RF/Transmission line/VNA measurement.
3. Must be able to communicate proficiently in English. Both written and verbal.
4. Basic Microsoft tool (Outlook, Word, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, etc.)
5. Communication skills are a must as this person will interact with engineers in different disciplines as well as with members of management. Fluency in Japanese and proficiency in English are required with a strong preference for a TOEFL score of 90+ on iBT or 576+ on PBT scales for the latter.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities.
