We are expanding our team in our Taiwan office and are seeking an experienced and innovative Mechanical Engineering Lead with a vision for industrial design to join our team. As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing enclosures and accessories for our payment terminals. Your expertise in CAD software, tolerance analysis, thermal simulation, and plastic molding processes will be essential. Examples of products designed by BBPOS for Stripe: https://stripe.com/terminal/s700 https://stripe.com/terminal/m2 What you will do • Design mechanical components or assemblies with Solidworks modeling based on professional standards. • Engineering documents preparation, specifications, DFx and technical reports. • Verification of mechanical design ,mechanical drawing and solving technical problems. • Provide solutions for engineering problems and take initiatives to lead and plan problem solving activities. • Create and maintain engineering documents required for project planning and product development gate approval review. • Review mechanical design and access manufacturability of new design. • Analyze and verify mechanical design independently and solve technical problems using scientific approaches, such as mathematics, physics, prototyping, tolerance analysis, CAE, FEM, simulations, DOE, etc • Control product BOM cost and related design schedule, from mechanical engineering perspective. • Prepare mechanical engineering documents, such as BOM, component specifications and technical reports, and support FMEA activities • Design fixture and calibration process for high precision mechanical assemblies. • Verify and qualify designed components firstly produced from suppliers and participate in pilot production. • Support product compliance certification activities. • Act as a mentor for mechanical engineers. • Keep track of several design elements and technical characteristics when designing and developing electronic products and components. • Initiative and drive to complete tasks quickly and efficiently • Interpersonal skills to work well within a team environment during the manufacturing process to ensure plans are correctly implemented

What you'll do • Build tools and libraries that improve developer productivity for engineers at BBPOS and Stripe Terminal by understanding their needs and coming up with both short term and long term solutions. • Work with a team of technically sophisticated engineers who make developer experience their first priority. • Build and deploy tooling across BBPOS software stack including Firmware, Android ROM, and Android and iOS Mobile SDKs, especially build, continuous integration and test automation infrastructure. • Design, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for secure software development life cycle. • Work with stakeholders across BBPOS and Stripe Terminal to balance and accommodate competing desires. • Interact with global teams with excellent communication skills to provide support. • Routinely perform code reviews to ensure high quality designs and implementation.

We are looking for As an Android BSP Engineer, you will be responsible for the kernel and driver level system development, which includes building, troubleshooting, and writing automated tests for the Android system on our embedded payments platforms. This team works closely with partner teams throughout the hardware and software product lifecycle, from hardware manufacturing to Android app teams. We also work with external vendors on part selection and initial hardware bring-up. What you'll do • Bring up new devices and lead debugging and performance tuning exercises that span multiple hardware/firmware/software teams. • Design, implement, and maintain drivers and Android services that operate efficiently in a constrained environment and meet the reliability and security requirements of the industry. • Own the definition of one or more work streams focused on hardware bring-up, peripheral drivers and communication, and power and performance management and optimization. • Analyze bug reports and manage the defect resolution process (disposition issues, resolve issues, and report issue status). Interact with global teams with excellent communication skills to provide support information • Routinely perform code reviews to ensure high quality designs and implementation Assist in ensuring quality and timeliness of product/feature development.
