Key Roles & Responsibilities of Medical Science Liaison (SMPTW)
Act as local medical responsible in Taiwan for the following therapeutic area/product to achieve SMPTW’s goals and objectives :
• Psychiatry/Latuda
• Other therapeutic areas/product depending on SMPTW future pipeline.
Act as a member of Regional Medical Affairs (RMA) organization by supporting regional medical affairs activities at SMPAP(**) region under the direction of Director, RMA.

Responsible region: Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia
Details of the roles and responsibilities are as followed:
Develop and maintain peer-to-peer collaborations and strong professional relationships with Local and Regional medical key thought leaders (KTLs) in TW and Regional medical Key Thought Leaders (KTLs) from SMPAP region.
Act as a trusted and credible partner for medical science/evidence communication with HCPs, and other relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Lead scientific engagements with medical KTLs/HCPs within the assigned country/territory including advisory boards, medical educational programs, HCP sponsorships (including local budget management), evidence generations and scientific publications as well as enhancing the data dissemination of SMPTW’s product(s).
Gather appropriate clinical insights and develop relevant local medical strategy for the therapeutic area and the product(s) in alignment with local brand strategies under the guidance of Director RMA.
Manage and respond professionally to address unsolicited requests for medical information from HCPs including on- and off-label uses of SMPTW’s products.
Develop a good understanding of the local and regional landscape including specialties involved in care of patients, healthcare systems and unmet medical needs.
Stay up to date with the therapeutic area’s advances, current research, medical/scientific knowledge, and detailed products knowledge.
Conduct medical training for internal stakeholders on key scientific and medical topics for the relevant therapeutic area(s) and products to ensure well oriented medical and clinical data knowledge.
Conduct review of promotional materials (including speaker’s materials) to ensure that the data and claims accurately reflect the approved product label and source promotional materials from the medical/scientific perspective.
Interact and collaborate with Local/Regional MKT and other internal functions in the matrix organization to provide scientific/medical expertise and relevant insights contributing to overall brand strategies and plans.
Provide regional medical support for RMA activities under guidance from Director RMA.
If any drug safety issues and/or quality related issues are received, should be reported to the SMPTW pharmacovigilance and/or quality department personnel.
Requirements
Minimum 2-3 years working experience in medical affairs of pharmaceutical/medical device/healthcare-related industry, ideally with experience in the psychiatry and/or urology.
Advanced degree (MD, MBBS, PhD, PharmD, MSc) or equivalent.
Good understanding of local/regional regulatory policy and industry’s code of practice related to drug registration, pharmaceutical promotion, and clinical study.
Strategic thinking specifically related to medical communication strategy that address asset value proposition.
Good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a broad range of external and internal personnel.
Highly self-motivated mind with strong cross-functional communication skills.
Highly ethical and compliance mind.
Excellent verbal, written, communication, presentation skills in Mandarin and English.
