Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, Hardware Development organization is looking to staff a Mechanical Engineer position responsible for working with a cross-disciplinary team in the new product introduction and product lifecycle management. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with Hardware Development, Manufacturing, Test and our Customers to support our growing product line of Point of Sale solutions and Self-Service in a fast-paced, highly technical and continually evolving business. RESPONSIBILITY: • Supports hardware product development in the Plan and design of Point of Sale hardware systems and parts while collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and working with vendors and suppliers in communicating specifications and requirements. • Supports hardware product development ensuring design specifications and quality requirements are met through design reviews and product test phases. • Supports debug of problems found during product development including identifying risks, technical problems and recommending solutions. • Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software and assisting with parts creation using 3D design tools. • Evaluation of vendor designs, design costs & tradeoffs between costs and function. • Product Life Cycle support – provides technical engineering support for field issues, EOL components and cost reductions. • Provides technical mentorship to suppliers and leads the global engineering team. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is currently looking for an experienced Quality Engineer who will have the overall responsibility for measuring, tracking, reporting and protecting TGCS and our customers from products and services that do not meet our specifications. Their involvement begins during NPI (New Product Introduction) activity to encourage new products and designs that equal or surpass the predecessor product quality and continues through the life of the product where the QE will monitor TGCS Production and Supplier performance to ensure all key quality metrics are within acceptable target ranges for performance. Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer: 1. NPI – Manage complex projects. Provide input on supplier performance and selection during the RFQ process. Conduct audits to ensure line readiness as well as monitor and support defect resolution through all phases of the New Product Introduction. Be responsible for reviewing new process throughput yield and other quality metrics of new production processes and equipment and declaring them Ready/Released to Production. 2. Conducts Supplier audits as a part of ongoing quality monitoring and improvement. Qualifies Supplier and works with them on continuous improvements. 3. Has authority to declare 'Stop Ship' as warranted by an out of specification condition. Focal point for field issues, often interfacing with customers and account teams for problem resolution. 4. Provides direction to Fulfillment Centers and FRU Centers for inventory handling, rework / screening as required. 6. The responsibilities begin with EMI (Early Manufacturing Involvement) working with DEV to ensure the design can be manufactured in cost efficient processes yielding reliable products as well as establish product structure and ensure BOMs (Bill of Materials) are complete. The ME is responsible to ensure all production related items are in place, including labeling requirements, PCDs (Product Content Declarations) and processes the Manufacturing portion of the ECs releasing the product. In Life Cycle support, the ME will continue to process ECs for any product changes, work with the suppliers and fulfillment centers on any production related issues as well as product or process changes for improvements or cost reduction. This may also include rework or conversion routings for inventory optimization. RESPONSIBILITY: • Works with suppliers on MFG line layouts & processes. • Process ECs, including BOM structures, tool summaries, labeling requirements. • Prepares Manufacturing SOW for RFQs. • Process PCDs for environmental compliance. • Work with Fulfillment Centers on manufacturing-related issues. • Creates manufacturing work instructions (routings) as needed. • Review Off-spec requests. • Perform other related duties as assigned.
